Following a competitive tender process Acumen were awarded the Mechanical and Plumbing Services at The Rugby Medical Centre by Wildgoose Construction, Derbyshire.
The new Rugby health and well-being centre is a new, purpose built Primary Medical Centre Facility providing 1,200m2 of bespoke accommodation and serves over 9,000 patients.
The centre includes a pharmacy built in “shell form” to specification for fitting out by the tenant. A community room is another key area within the building and is used as focal point for health and wellbeing initiatives. The two storey steel framed building is clad in coloured hard sheet cladding giving the building a contemporary, state-of-the-art appearance. This appearance is maintained throughout the building with the use of high level roof lights and windows.
Built to a “very good” BREEAM rating, key features include tailored entry systems for exit and entry out of hours. The project is part of a large development site. The practices within the building will be using the building to develop their GP training role and will also be working closely with Warwick Medical School who will be using the premises assisting the local community of Rugby.
